Nick Farr-Jones AM, Patron

Nick Farr-Jones AM, Patron of the Cardiac Arrest Survival FoundationAs someone who led his nation in the last years of amateur rugby, Nick Farr-Jones is a natural leader and, as an amateur sportsman, has uniquely experienced over two decades working in a business environment. He has led both world class sports people but has also been intricately involved in executing global business plans, strategic development and motivating people to achieve, individually and collectively, their objectives and dreams.  Nick has been a supporter of defibrillators ever since he stumbled on the issue by way of funding a system that ended up saving a person’s life.

Dr Donald Dingsdag, Chair and Director

Donald DingsdagDon is a Senior Lecturer in OHS at University of Western Sydney.  He has extensive experience in training and education in occupational health practice, safety management, risk assessment/management, auditing and safety systems.  His experience includes researching in OHS generically as well as in developing and implementing safety culture and leadership strategies.  Together with experience in operational management roles in the manufacturing and retailing sectors he has also achieved success in the policy development of OHS, risk management, behavioural competencies and training strategies in the coalmining, energy, construction and public sectors. 

Duncan Kerr – Director

Duncan-Kerr-300x262Duncan is a paramedic and has also been involved in sport at the highest level working with the Australian Cricket Team, the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and even the Wiggles!
He is married and has four fantastic children. Duncan originates from Scotland where he grew up before leaving school and joining the British Royal Navy as an Officer. Duncan has been involved with various local sporting teams on committees and has coached many of the local children in both football and cricket. He is involved with various charities as a committee member and enjoys keeping fit and playing music as a drummer.

Dr Chris Quirk, Consultant Cardiologist, BA Hon Oxon, MA, MBBS Hons, MRCP, FRACP, DDU, Director

ChrisQuirkBorn in Australia Chris did his schooling in Spain and London and then spent 3 years doing his BA in Physiology at Oxford University, England. He finished his clinical studies at St.Thomas’ Hospital, London, and obtained his membership (MRCP) with the Royal College of Physicians in London before coming back to Australia to become a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP). His Cardiology training was completed at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and then he spent 2 years doing research at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. He complemented this by completing the Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound, DDU.

Renata Grzech, Assistant Secretary

RenataHuntleyRenata is responsible for adminstration of the Cardiac Arrest Survival Foundation. She has been working with the foundation since 2006. Over the years she has been involved with the community deployments and working with survivors of cardiac arrest.

Reno Aprile, Director

Reno online picReno is the General Manager of Customer Solutions and Operations for Cardiac Responder and is on the board of the Cardiac Responder Group.  He is a founding Director of the Cardiac Arrest Survival Foundation.

Andrew Ferguson, Director

Andrew-203x300Andrew Ferguson has worked for the Building Workers Industrial Union and its predecessor the Construction Forestry Mining Energy Union for more than 30 years.  Andrew was Secretary of the union for ten years and led many campaigns dedicated to workers’ rights.

His union has a proud history of involvement in community campaigns from green bans protecting bushland and heritage buildings to campaigns to support asbestos victims.
In particular the union has been in the forefront of campaigns for worker and public safety.
The CFMEU has been active in campaigning for national OHS regulations in respect of the deployment of defibrillators at Australian workplaces.
